SLC Fall Ball is going box, in a big way!   We have joined forces with "The Box Lacrosse Academy" in the Bay Area to create the US Box Lacrosse Association. 
       
       
        What does this mean for our Sacramento Lacrosse Players?


        *       Sacramento Box League will play under the same guidelines and rule book as other Northern California Box Teams, which will help create a firmer structure to Fall Ball.
        *       All players will be registered with the USBOXLA official website; this means all players will receive added box insurance, have access to all box league records, weekly reports, pictures, updates and standing on our official USBOXLA website.
        *       On Friday, September 10th from 3-6pm, in conjunction with our player clinics, SLC will be holding a coach and umpire certification training.  This class is to help our coaches and referees understand the nuances of the box game and to assure that our players are taught consistently across Northern California. (Please email us if you would like to register for the class)
        *       NLL coaches have committed to coming to Sacramento for additional practices during the week. These practiced are optional and will be scheduled every other week for all registered players that are interested in attending.
        *       All Northern California Box Teams are invited to face-off at the California Fall Box Lacrosse Classic, a box tournament to be held on November 14th at the Silver Creek Sports Complex in San Jose, CA.  (Let's make sure we represent, Sacramento!)
        *       All registered players will be eligible to tryout for the Cali-Lax All Stars.  This team will attend a 120+ team Box Tournament at the end of the 2011 Summer.

        Spaces are filling up very quickly and we highly recommend that all players and/or teams register prior to the September 10th & 11th clinics.  We want to primarily use these clinics to finalize registration, hand out team (box) jerseys and teach players, coaches and referees the box lacrosse game that we will play throughout the fall.

If you are a coach, or if you have thought about volunteering as a coach, we want to make sure you are aware that you have an amazing opportunity to become a US Lacrosse Certified Level 1 or Level 2 coach before our next season begins by participating in educational clinics offerred right here in Fair Oaks!


A Level 1 clinic will be offered on November, 14, 2010, and Level 2 will be offered on January 30, 2011, both at Bella Vista High School.  These clinics are available for both boys' and girls' coaches.
